Do you associate qualities of products with prices?

There's a lot of economic theories such as e.g. Game Theory, which counts only on rational customers making decisions consciously, however, in some cases, this behaviour isn't predictable (otherwise, there shouldn't work rather of marketing/psychological tricks). At one point, every one "Geek" knows that open source things like (for example) Linux and whatsoever totally for free are often better than the most expensive paid software. After all, one could think there's zero statistics about this kind of internet users.

Are you sometimes disgusted by cheap products and shopping the more expensive because of the price? Do you recalculate the usability/quality of products in a correlation to the selling price?
